Facebook Inc. announced exciting news for the European tech market. As they published on their official site, Facebook is coming to Europe to build a metaverse (interconnected platform for virtual and augmented reality)
Facebook is currently on the lookout for the best of the best of European talent and tech companies as they consider the European market a very important element of their success.
Why Facebook chose Europe for metaverse?
According to Facebook, not only that the leading talents come from Europe, but European Union is constantly working to protect its residents, allow free speech, take care of transparency within online European borders, but also supports their rights. As Facebook mentioned, they support this initiative and believe in the same values, plus they want to help build a digital economy.
Over 10.000 open positions at Facebook
Facebook also announced a great amount of highly skilled positions that are about to open within the European Union (EU). They believe that Europe has the right talent and strength to build metaverse from the very start. Facebook believes that top education and large consumer market create a confident foundation to open over 10.000 positions.
What is metaverse?
In today’s world of fast-growing internet services and platforms, we get to hear about popular and some not very popular names for technological advancements.
So what is the metaverse? Metaverse would be a concept name for future “updates” of the already existing technologies made of virtual spaces and 3D concepts which includes the entire spectrum of augmented reality. Meta meaning beyond and verse (short from the universe).
The key elements of metaverse include services such as gaming, video-conferencing, live streaming, virtual realities, crypto, and similar.
Is Facebook going to change its name?
There have been some speculations that due to the investment in the European market, Facebook plans to change its name to re-brand the company and transfer focus on metaverse.
Facebook Changes name to META
On October 28, 2021, Facebook finally announces the changes of the company name to META on their official Twitter account.
As we find out officially, all know platforms and messengers will keep the existing name, however, we believe that due to the whole rebranding strategy, Meta will eventually change the name.
